On Monday the 28th of March, Kathy Suzanne Ikemire was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus peacefully at home with her family by her side. Kathy was born on April 24, 1948, on Coronada Island in San Diego, California to Fredrick and Koueta Melvin. The family moved to Ventura where she graduated from Buena High School and attended Ventura College.
Kathy met Leonard Ikemire who she married in 1973 and spent the rest of her life with him. Kathy and Leonard had two daughters, Michele and Sabrina and a son, Micah with many furry friends along the way.
Kathy taught 2nd grade at a local Christian school. She dedicated her life to demonstrating God’s love to her students and their families. She remained a beloved teacher and mentor to her students throughout their lives. One of her joy’s was being recognized by her students as “Mrs. Ikemire.”
Kathy loved early morning prayer and devotions. “Tea Time Kathy” enjoyed hosting tea parties for friends and spending time with family, especially traveling to Paris, Vancouver and Hawaii.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Melvin and sister Jana Stark. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, Leonard; daughters Michele and Sabrina; her son Micah and grandchildren Brennan and Sharayah.
She is also survived by her mother, Koueta, her brother, David and twin brother Marty, sister Lisa and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Missionary Church located at 500 High Point Drive, Ventura, California on April 23, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.
