Theresa Louise Castro passed away at the age of 59 on April 23, 2024, due to complications from a long and well-fought battle with dementia.
She was born on July 15, 1964, to Bob Barrick and Marianna Jauregui. She attended Ventura High School and Ventura Junior College. In 1986, she married her high school sweetheart, Henry “Boogie” Castro Jr. and went on to have two daughters, Rebecca and Monica. Henry and Louise shared a love that you only see in fairytales. He stood by her side in sickness and in health and was the epitome of what a loving husband should be. For several years she worked as a teller at Gibraltar Savings and as a Client Relations Manager at Ventura Toyota.
She enjoyed Sunday BBQ’s at her in-laws, going on long car rides with Boogie, baking sweets like her delicious pineapple upside down cake or her caramel banana cake, making the largest batches of tapioca pudding you’ve ever seen, reading cheap romance novels, munching on her endless supply of candy, zooming around in her Volkswagens blasting Gretchen Wilson or Brooks and Dunn, and spoiling her grandkids, Jada and Elijah.
She will be remembered for her strength, her will to live, and for always being a fighter.
Louise will be greatly missed by her husband Henry “Boogie”, her daughters Rebecca and Monica, her brother Jim, and her grandchildren Jada and Elijah. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents Anthony “Toots” and Theresa Jauregui, and her mother-in-law Lorraine Castro.
The family wishes to thank her longtime physician, Dr. Thomas Conklin, the great staff at Holiday Manor Skilled Nursing Facility, Father Leon Hutton, and our dear friend Otto Schimmel for helping us navigate the end of her journey.
A private Catholic burial has been held.
